Next Generation Superintendent Effectiveness Modules

Module at a Glance

The purpose of this module is to provide an overview of Kentucky's pilot Next Generation Superintendent Effectiveness Standards. Lu Young, Superintendent of Jessamine County Schools, has been involved in the development of the pilot standards from the beginning as a member of the KY Association of School Administrator's Design Team and faculty for the training of all of Kentucky's new superintendents. In this module, Young will share the timeline for the pilot and the process to develop the state's first set of superintendent effectiveness standards for use by aspiring, new, and experienced KY superintendents as well as boards of education across the commonwealth. In addition, this module will provide new superintendent participants in KY's Next Generation New Superintendents Leadership Series (NxGNSLS) with an overview of the standards which now serve as the foundation for the training and assessment of all new superintendents as required by KY statute and regulation and administered by the KY Association of School Administrators (KASA).
