Positive Energy...Love Your Passengers

“If you want to know who loves you unconditionally, lock your wife, your mother-in-law, and your dog in the trunk of your car.  An hour later, open the trunk and notice who is happy to see you.”
- Jon Gordon

Rule #7:  Enthusiasm Attracts More Passengers.
Rule #8:  Love Your Passengers.

Great leaders are enthusiastic and passionate about their beliefs and their team.  Great leaders also love their team.  This love must be visible and cannot be in words only.  If we say we love our team, we must show it.  Love is a verb and meant to be acted upon.  As leaders, we should reflect each day to make sure that our actions match what we say.  In Jon Gordon’s book, The Carpenter, he shares “the greatest success strategies of all: Love, Serve, and Care.”

“When you show your team you care about them, they will care about you.  When you care, you will inspire others to care.  When you care, you will build a team that cares, and a team that cares will accomplish amazing things together.”
- Jon Gordon

So, how do we “love our passengers”?  In The Energy Bus, Jon Gordon shares five ways to love your passengers.

  1. Make time for them.
  2. Listen to them.
  3. Recognize them.
  4. Serve them.
  5. Bring out the best in them.

“You love, you serve, and you show people you care.  It’s the simplest, most powerful, greatest success model of all time.”
- Jon Gordon

Be sure to go to the Discussion Board and answer this month's "Question for Discussion."

Question for Discussion:

With all of the great leaders across Kentucky, there are some amazing things happening because of leaders using these strategies.  Of the five ways to love your passengers which do you feel you are most successful?  Which one is an area of improvement for you?  What do you do to show your team/staff that you care about them?
