Bio

Brenda McClain is owner and founder of McClain Communications, Inc., a
Communications Leadership consulting firm, specializing in Message Development
and Delivery. Brenda has been in business for 23 years and has served clients
nationwide, from CEO's of Fortune 100 companies (AT&T, Marriott, etc.) to
various nonprofits (Outdoor Advertising Association of America, Arthritis
Foundation, Cincinnati Reds) and across a myriad of industries, from
telecommunications to healthcare to sports.

Her favorite work, however, is with Kentucky educators. She began her work in
Oldham County in 1998 with Dr. Blake Haselton's administrative team and from
there moved statewide to working with all incoming superintendents. Brenda also
works with the Kentucky Principals Academy (KPA) and Kentucky Association of
School Administrators (KASA). The thrust of Brenda's training helps educators
step into Communications Leadership with confidence, knowing that their job is
to communicate to their various communities on behalf of the kids they serve.

Brenda has spent her entire career in Communications. She began as a newspaper journalist in 1979 and then moved to radio and later television in the
Southeast. In 1988, she became Manager of Media Relations for BellSouth
Corporation in Atlanta, where she worked with executives to prepare them for
upcoming national media interviews. She holds a B.A. In English from Furman
University. She also completed the Mass Media Institute at Stanford University.
