Bio

I am currently in my 33rd year as an educator in Kentucky, spending my previous 12 years as principal of the Jackson City School. I began my teaching career at JCS in 1984, spending eight years there and then moving to the Breathitt County School District for the next nine years serving as music teacher and band director at both districts. In 2001 I returned to JCS, again as band director, and two years later became the principal. During my accumulated years at Jackson Independent I have served as teacher, coach, bus driver, SBDM teacher member, school board member (during my years at Breathitt County), gifted and talented coordinator, principal, and now superintendent. My wife of 33 years has been my strength and my inspiration to forge forward and continue in education after 33 years. Her ethical and common sense perspectives keep me grounded and sensible with my decision making (although she claims there's no controlling me). We have three amazing daughters that are the loves of our lives and we enjoy our lives in Eastern Kentucky and look forward continuing to watch our family grow.
