Bio

My secondary education was very important to me. Being a life-long learner was always important. But, until I had children, I did not think that an “institution” of learning was an avenue that I would be able to pursue. Having children changed it all. Their education was very important to me and led me to getting involved and caring about how they were being educated.
I attended Elizabethtown Community College and graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelors of Science in Education, Masters of Arts in Education, a Rank I in Instructional Leadership, All Grades; Instructional Leadership: Superintendent and Supervision of Instruction.
School, district and state experiences have enabled me with the qualifications needed to be an asset to KASA. As the instructional leader at Muldraugh Elementary School (Pre-6), I transformed a school in assistance to a reward school by empowering the stakeholders. I modeled my vision that all students could and would achieve at high levels by fostering a positive environment that was instructionally sound. My “working together” philosophy enabled the students, parents, community and staff to respect each other and form high expectations for everyone. I live this philosophy and see the “big picture” and how it will help children become successful self-sufficient adults. At West Point Independent (Pre-8) this vision helped the students achieve at high levels while building a culture of a community of learners among our staff and district. During my time at Bowling Green City Schools, my duties included Director of Elementary Programs and Public Relations; the Coordinator of Substitute Teachers, Professional Development, Extended School Services, and Textbooks. This gave me a broader view on education and how to help students. In Bullitt County, I was a Literacy Coach, Assistant Principal and Principal. Each position was met with a new love for learning and sharing what I have learned.
All of the knowledge and experience I have attained have helped me to effectively multitask and be an instructional leader that looks forward to a challenge.
